March is here and we are marching right through this year. As I write this letter Russia has attacked Ukraine, so let us continue to pray for peace and the people of Ukraine. We have a prayer walk scheduled for Saturday, March 12th at 10 am. I always enjoy walking our neighborhood and praying for it. We will be joining with several other groups, hope to see you there.
The month of March always begins to increase the times we walk around the downtown area where we live. Maria and I both miss our walking buddy Mac, a South African Boerboel. He was our dog. At this time, it would be good to google, “South African Boerboel. Well I am waiting…… now you know the physical specimen this dog is. When we would walk him here are a few questions we would usually hear.
- What kind of dog is that?
- How much does he weigh? In other words, how big is he?
- Can I pet him?
There were more, but those are the top three I remember. One time during a late night walk with Mac, a person upon seeing us cross the intersection commented that I was the safest person walking the streets. To which I just nodded, and said, “Yep.” It occurred to me that when I was with Mac nobody noticed me, they just focused on Mac! He was like a rock star and everybody’s attention just naturally gravitated toward him.
As we walk with Jesus shouldn’t it be the same way? Should not the people watching us on a daily basis see Jesus in us and want to know what kind of God he is that is so loving, so big and lastly they will want to know can they also walk with him? I may not be able to walk with Mac today but I can and do walk with Jesus every day. I pray that my walk with my Savior will provoke the same reaction I got while walking with Mac. May people see the Jesus in us and may what they see cause them to want to know this great Savior and king!
